You Know, I Learned Something Today...

...as the eleventh anniversary of our country's greatest tragedy comes to pass, I'm heartened by a realization of how proudly aware and honest a nation we've become during this test of time. To think, that just last century, which is not so very long ago, we could not even bring ourselves to admit that this even took place. God bless America.

The Eleven(slight refrain)

Temerity will not be the word for my day. Nor will I want from a cynical bowl of 'told ya so's'. No. This 9/11, I will observe a silence of the words, I hope, which usually issue freely from my addled warped mind that sees this anniversary much different than most Americans. Mine prefers to look back to the day before, when we were so much more the innocent kind of blind. Mental reminders not to react to the many gushings of the greatness, the hurt, the heroic, with caustic blitherings of the monsters we've become. The points I have to make, and of which I am correct regarding our collective path towards doom will not find purchase among the threads and conversations with friends. I hope. (repeat)

Shades of Loathing

So long, Grey 1.0.  It's Cowboy Raoule at the helm out on the Proud Highway in search of a desperate southern gentleman's soul, and running roughshod through his twisted mind.  I'll gladly trade in your whips, bitten lips, your highrise of millions for a poverty full of open sores of real men, wanting but expression for their pain, and a well crafted sentence.
